I just opened a brand new Kindle 4 I bought back in 2011, went ahead and bought this cover for it, and it feels sturdy. The edges are hard plastic and fits my Kindle 4 perfectly. I guess if there is anything to worry about it would be those same plastic edges scratching or scuffing the edges of your Kindle, but this is a super old device, so babying it would be overkill at this point! Hahah.It leaves an open spaces on the sides for the charging cable, the power button, and the side buttons, so there is little reason to take it out of its cover. The magnet clips close well. I don't foresee taking my Kindle out of this cover... so this is probably how it's gonna look until it dies! Right now, I'm considering whether to add stickers to it or personalize it somehow.Not bad for 11 bucks. Frankly, I'm a little surprised there are still covers being made and sold for this device.
