Product Description Verso Prologue Red Cover for Kindle, Kindle Touch and Kindle Paperwhite By LightWedge It’s rare for a book to become a classic overnight. Just ask Henry David Thoreau. He only managed to publish two books during his lifetime, both of which were regarded as strange and weird. He even paid for the printing of one out of his own pocket, a 1,000-volume run of A Week on the Concord and Merrimack Rivers. Fewer than 300 sold before his death. Not until the 1920s did Thoreau earn his due, and today, it’s difficult to find a high school graduate that wasn’t required pick up his ode to natural living, Walden. Like the literary palate of the reading public, the Verso Prologue e-reader might also require a short breaking-in period. But that’s because it’s hand constructed of super-durable, high-quality materials. Namely, animal-friendly “leather” on the outside. Don’t worry; you won’t miss the cow. You will quite pleased with the classy look, supple feel, and impressive durability of the Prologue. A hand distressed finish, carefully embossed embellishments, and antique foil stampings add sophistication. On the inside, advanced microfiber engineered for maximum softness cradles your device when closed while patent-pending silicone-enhanced corner elastic straps hold it in place—a grip guaranteed for the lifetime of your device. When I first opened my cover after receiving it, I was a little disappointed. When I say a little, I mean a very tiny amount(I'm picky). The only reason I was disappointed is because, as some have mentioned, the golden leaves/flowers(whatever you want to call them) are a little "damaged." However, I quickly accepted this because it blends in nicely with the overall look and feel of the cover. It is made to look like an antique book and this look is achieved quite well. In a way, I wish the manufacturers wouldn't have distressed the leaves/flowers, but I can definitely understand why they did. Don't get me wrong, the cover looks great and I'm very happy with it, so this isn't a review in a negative light. Some have said in reviews that their cover didn't lay completely flat for a while, but I haven't had a problem with mine at all. It lays perfectly flat, it feels very nice on the hands, it looks incredible, and it is sturdy enough to protect my Kindle, which is of course the reasoning behind it. It is obvious that it is not made of leather - it is synthetic, so that is very good for me since I'm vegan. However, it isn't obvious enough to where it doesn't look good. Have I said it looks incredible already? Well, it looks incredible. One bad thing, though, is that the material seems to be fragile and it's possible that it may get damaged over time if you aren't careful with it, but honestly, I don't think it would be too noticeable if that were to happen since the cover has already been "distressed" to look old. Overall, I'm very glad I spent the $40 to protect my Kindle because I've fallen in love with this cover. I was looking for a cover that disguised my Kindle as a book and being a lover of both books and antiques, this was perfect. For me, it makes switching from books to e-books a little easier.
